Terms and conditions

What we agree with each other when you have a repair done or order something.

Still under review

This text was drawn up from the arrangements we actually make, and is still being checked by the owner and his accountant. What it says matches how we work; the final wording may still change.

01What these terms cover

These terms apply to every repair we carry out — at your home, at your workplace or in the store — and to everything you order through this website. They are written for consumers; if you are ordering on behalf of a company, we agree that separately.

02Price and quote

Where we hold a fixed price, you see it including VAT before you confirm, with the cost of coming to you alongside it. Where we have no fixed price, you get a personal quote first and nothing is scheduled until then. A price applies to the repair it is stated against.

03We consult you before anything changes

If it turns out during the repair that a different part is needed, or that it costs more than agreed, we stop and consult you. We only continue once you agree. If you do not, we return the device to the state we found it in, as far as that is possible.

04Backups and data loss

Make a backup of your device before the repair. In most repairs your data stays where it is, but in some — mostly liquid damage and software that will no longer start — the device may have to be reset to factory settings. We are not liable for the loss of data you could have secured yourself, and we cannot recover lost data.

05Water and dust resistance

A device that has been opened is no longer water and dust resistant the way it left the factory. That applies to every repair where the housing has to come off, even when we replace the seal. So after a repair, do not assume your device can still take water.

06Screen protectors

If your device has a screen protector on it, we usually have to take it off to work. A removed screen protector cannot be put back and we do not replace it. If you want a new one, say so — we have them in the store and in the van.

07Checking against the stolen-goods register

We check devices against the national register of stolen equipment. If a device turns out to be registered as stolen, we do not carry out the repair, we may charge the costs incurred, and we report it to the appropriate authorities. For anyone letting somebody come to their door, this is one of the reasons they can.

08Effect on the manufacturer warranty

A repair carried out outside the manufacturer can affect the warranty the manufacturer itself gives on your device. That differs by brand and by kind of repair, and we cannot vouch for it. What we do give: warranty on our own work and on the parts we fit, recorded in writing.

09Parts

You choose which quality of part we fit; each option states what it is and what it means in practice. We only call a part original when we hold the supplier documentation for it. We take the part we replace with us, unless you tell us you want to keep it.

10If the repair cannot be done on location

If it turns out at your home or workplace that we cannot carry out the repair, we may charge for coming to you. We say that beforehand and never afterwards, and we can choose not to charge it. In that case you pay nothing for a repair that was not done.

11A second opinion after another repairer

If your device has already been assessed as beyond repair by another repairer and we cannot fix it either, a fixed amount applies for coming out and for the diagnosis. If the repair does succeed, we credit that amount in full against the price of the repair. You hear the amount before we come.

12Cancelling and not being there

You can cancel your appointment at no cost up to two hours before the agreed window. After that we currently charge nothing, not even if nobody is home, but we do ask you to let us know — then that time can go to somebody else.

13Devices that are not collected

If a device is in the workshop after its repair, we let you know it is ready. If it is then not collected for three months and you do not respond to our messages, ownership of the device passes to us. We send notice of that in advance to the address and the number you gave us.

14Starting straight away

When you book, we ask whether we may start immediately. If you say yes, we begin within the cooling-off period you have for a service bought at a distance — which is exactly why we ask. What that means for your right of withdrawal is on the page about it.

15Paying

You pay after the repair: on the spot, or through a payment link we send you. You always get an invoice with the VAT on it. For webshop orders you pay in advance; what you pay is on screen including VAT and postage before you confirm.

16Our liability

If something goes wrong with your device during our work, we put it right or compensate the damage up to at most the amount of the repair. For data loss, what is written above applies. Damage that was already there, and damage arising from use after the repair, is not covered.

17Applicable law

Dutch law applies to our agreements. Your statutory rights as a consumer always continue to apply; nothing in these terms detracts from them.
