What data we hold about you, what we use it for and how long we keep it.

Still under review

This text was drawn up from the arrangements we actually make, and is still being checked by the owner and his accountant. What it says matches how we work; the final wording may still change.

01Who processes your data

The business named at the foot of this page processes your data for the repair or order you asked for. There is no separate data protection officer; you can bring any question to us.

02What data we hold

Your name, your phone number, your email address and — if we come to you — your address. Beyond that, what you tell us about the device, what we did to it and which part went in. For an order, also your delivery address and the payment details as the payment provider returns them to us.

03What we use it for

To schedule and confirm your appointment, to reach you when we are on the way, to carry out and record the repair, to produce your invoice and your warranty record, and to help you if you come back within the warranty period. For nothing else, and we sell nothing on.

04On what basis

Mostly because it is necessary to perform the agreement with you. We keep the invoice and the surrounding records because the law requires it. For measuring how the site is used, we ask your consent in advance.

05WhatsApp and your phone number

Our messages to customers run over WhatsApp. That means your phone number and the content of those conversations also end up with WhatsApp, under their own terms. If you would rather we did not message you there, say so — then we call or email.

06Who else can access it

The parties we need in order to work: the supplier of our database and storage, the service that sends our email, the payment provider, the services that turn a postcode into an address and a driving distance, and the service that protects submitting a request against automated ones. If you say yes to statistics, Google joins that list; if you say no, it does not. They only get what they need for that task and may not use it for anything else.

07How long we keep it

We keep invoices and the surrounding records for as long as tax law prescribes. We keep repair records at least for as long as the warranty runs, so we can help you if something is wrong. The rest runs on fixed periods: messages we sent you about your repair we keep for a little over a year — the warranty runs six months and a claim can arrive on its last day — and our email sending queue is cleared after three months. If you start a booking or an order and do not finish it, it does not sit there: an unfinished booking is deleted after thirty days, and for an order that was never paid we remove your name, your contact details and your address after three months. The order number and the amounts stay, because our bookkeeping has to be able to find them. What we no longer need after that is deleted automatically.

08Your rights

You may ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted as far as we are not legally required to keep it, and object to its use. Ask and we will arrange it; we may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not give somebody else your data.

09Cookies

What we place on your device and why, and how you control it, is in the cookie statement.

10A complaint about your data

If you feel we are not handling your data carefully, tell us first — it is usually resolved quickly. If we cannot resolve it together, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority.
